A day away from work ...

Today i got the great opportunity to slip away from work for a day. I got to hop in a car with my good buddy Timbo and our New Pastor JD. It was a great day to get to know each other and we all had a great time... well sorta... read on about the golf course. The first part of the day was used for church work as we scouted out the Family Life center at Brainerd Baptist. they have an awesome center called the BX We got the big tour, and were then able to tuck away in our notes the things we really liked about it in hopes that maybe they can come to be a reality at FBC some day.

After a short lunch at Subway we were off to the golf couse where Lance pants had us a sweet deal setup. He works at a private golf course called Black Creek.
They are closed on mondays, but employees can play and bring their friends. So instead of $96 bucks for 18 holes we payed nothing!! and got free soda from the soda gun! it was awesome. As far as golf goes the view was great, we all had fun, but at one point we were wondering if we were playing on a giant put put course. Not sure any course should be that hard. the greens were fast and rolling. The ball was just going all over the place, hit it wrong on some holes and it will role back to you and passed where you were to start with. Other than the occasional frustrating golf moment we all had a great time! As you can tell from the picture their sand traps are pretty serious, and they were everywhere. At times i went from one bunker to the other.. if it weren't for all the mountains i would have thought i was on the beach with all the sand i had in my shoes!!
