Liberty Square, iMacs and Cell Phones

Wow what a week. This past week has been a series of highs, lows and big decisions. First the lows... I lost a dear friend.. a friend who has seen many highs, many lows, many meetings, many late night drive homes, and even the birth of my child. My dear old cell phone whom I love had a severe stroke this week. Never more to call, never more to vibrate and bring me the news of today's luncheon location. Sad sad times. She will be laid to rest in Allies toy box in the presence of family and friends on sunday at 1:30 pm. She will be missed but not forgotten. A new soldier is in training as we speak. She shows much promise, but also has large shoes to fill.

Now the highs... How many times in your life do you get to see the general lee up close in person. Today at the Liberty Square celebration there was a car show. Incredibly this car show nearly brought tears to my eyes. In one location, only 100's of yards from where I work every day. There was not only a mint General Lee, but a K.I.T.T from the Knight Rider show. The General was as nice as any I've ever seen. It even smoked Cooters that we saw back in the summer. The Knight Rider car was awesome too. It even had the flashing light in the front that made the swooshing sound. Thanks to Timbo for giving me the heads up that two pieces of history where there for the viewing today.

Now the big decisions... this may shock many... even shocks me a little when I think about. Over the past few weeks I've been listening to lots of Podcasts from Leo Laporte. he has given me lots of good info about computers. In addition to this info I have been working closely with Jeff Jones with video footage for our TV broadcast at FBC. And 3rdly my dealings with every day PC stuff such as virus's, spyware and general lockups and crashes. All these have played greatly into my decision to have the new main computer at the heady home a Mac. As crazy as that may sound, we ordered the big new shiny iMac this week. We were in need of a computer. The mac is rock solid and hasn't had a virus written to infect in 3 years. Also Jeff's mac with Final Cut Pro video editing software has sold me. That software is incredible. I've been using premiere, but Final Cut has so many other plugin's that it really is a more powerful set of tools. Who would have thought this day would come. I guess the Nano just needed a father figure around. so now the king daddy mac will be here to keep him company.

well I think I'll get off here for now and watch some college football, and try to get my new phone updated with all my contacts.
