Man I know exactly what you mean. The first time I got the ol' Black Beauty filled with 3/4 inch rock, and she told me "that'll be 378" I was like, man...i knew it would cost some money but not that much. She said, "no, 3 dollars and 78 cents". I was blown away. I love the limestone!!
Now we just need to find out what kind of rock is "lightest" so we can buy volume as opposed to weight. We asked the nice lady who was weighing our rock which size was lighter so we could save some money. She, like most others, did not catch our humor... but I know some of you will appreciate it.
Pumice is the lightest...Just so you know. ;)
Ahhh That would make sense why " The Red Mule" had all that dust on the tail gate. I thought it was just where you were burning the roads up! Jeremy
