Look out Dara Torres

Greetings faithful blog readers. It has been a few days since our last post. Things are going pretty well here in Spartaville! You'll be happy, or sad to know the sparta snow curse continues. While the potential for huge snow was all around us we wound up with only a good 30 minutes of snow fall. Then within a couple hours it was all gone. Please just one good snow, that is all we ask. We need Bill Hall back in the business!! He always delivered for us.

Tonight was a big night for Allie. Tonight was her first night with the developmental swim team at the Cookeville YCMA. Allie has shown an interest in swimming, so we decided to allow her to stretch her wings alittle and learn more about it. Swimming is one of those skills that you will always have with you so i have no problem with her investing into this skill. This class will teach all the basics needed to move up to the competitive swim team. We are not sure if Allie would actually compete next year but we are just excited about her learning all about swimming. She has never been around this type of swimming atmosphere, I haven't either for that matter. So we had no idea what to expect. We were very pleased at how she did. She had no idea what she was doing, but listened very well and had a great time. Ironically, we know the instructor. Beth Husband is her teacher. Beth worked with me at UT for about a year as our FCS agent. So we feel very comfortable with her watching out and helping allie. Beth has been doing swim classes for along time. We will keep you posted as to Allie's progress. I have a feeling the question of "Daddy when are we going to open up the pool?" is going to start early this year.

Enjoy a short clip of todays session. Allie was supposed to hold onto the wall and push off, then swim to Beth. You'll see Allie kept slipping off, but she finally got it. You can hear sam chuckling in the back ground. It was a little comical.
