Power Struggle

I got the call this morning... it was from an 865 area code. Going with my 06-07 resolution i typically do not answer unknown phone numbers, but i knew this was a knoxville number so i answered. It was the Apple Store. I knew they were going to tell me one of two things. Either your computer is fixed and ready for pickup, or give me a mechanic spin of, well she was harder to fix than we thought... Well luckily our iMac is back to life. She has a new power supply and is ready to roll. Timothy and I are going to head to knoxville on Wednesday to pick her up. Timbo has a laptop with some screen issues he is going to get them to look at while we are there. I'm sure we will take some time to play with the iPhone as well. Always fun times.

This leaves me with a problem to solve. It's obvious that we had some type of power spike or drop last week. Since the original post i discovered that the power also killed our mac mini, and crashed a drive in our web server. I've been looking online, and i guess i'll buy a UPS (uninterruptible power supply) aka a lawn mower battery to hook to our iMac. The battery will help when the power dips, we already had surge protectors on all the machines. I really don't want to have to go through this again. To all you procrastinators out there, take this time to do a backup of your stuff. I had backups of our iMac that luckily won't be needed. But you can never be too careful. Go backup ... NOW.
