Baby Strawberry as allie calls her…

Well to start this story lets go back in time alittle. I had said and I quote “sam… I believe I can deliever this baby all by myself…” end quote. Little did I know how right that was going to be. The day started out slow at 6:00 am. We were on an IV and pitocin drip by 6:15. Flash forward a few hours and at 11:00 we were dilated to a 3 and nothing much was going on. Then at lunch Leono stopped by while doing her rounds and broke sam’s water. At this point the process becomes more painfull. For those folks that don’t know sammy that well. She has now had two baby’s all natural with no epidural. Hurray!!! The rest of the afternoon was much like the morning. Lots of walking… lots of trying to decide what we were going to name the baby. And lots of contractions. At 4:00 pm the nurse (Barb who was wonderful) checked us out again and do our dislike we were still only at a 6. Little did we know that 20 mins from then we would be holding a new baby girl. Sam and I were all alone in the room when she decided she needed a nurse ASAP. A nurse came in, had her sit down. They went and got barb our main nurse. At this point 2 nurses and a rhino proceeded to deliver abby without doctors…without midwife..without heart monitors without nursery folks. What the heck are we paying all these people for…. Because by the time the normal “crew” arrived. Abby was in mom’s arms. So…. Like I said I think I can deliver this baby all by myself. It’s about 9:30 pm right now. Sammy and I are very tired.. but anxiously awaiting for abby to come back to the room. There are about 10 other babys in the nursery too so there is a log jam getting through the process of the bathing and making sure she can hold her temperature. Oh by they way…. We were leno’s first miss of not making it to deliver in 12 years…. Who would have thunk it.!! Welp check back soon from more info.
