Fun filled short work week

Next week will be a short work week due to Good Friday. The week will be shorter, but not lacking in fun things to do. Monday morning bright and early 100's of chicks will be at my office. Baby chickens that is. The 4-H chick chains will be there for all the young kiddo's to come pick up and take back to their house in attempt to raise. Monday night is supposed to be really chilly. Like in the 20's. This always makes me nervous because lots of people will be taking baby chicks home. They require lots of warmth to live, so folks will put a heat lamp over them to keep them warm. We've heard too many stories of folks loosing homes and barns to heat lamps for baby pups, chickens etc. I hope it all goes smoothly. My girls always come to the office to see the tiny baby chicks, and torture them briefly before they go on their way. It should be a fun morning.

Later this week, on thursday, will be Cumberland Beef Day. Beef day is a day of trade shows and education for Beef farmers. For about eight years i've helped do tech support at this event. Why you may ask? Well its always fun to setup for big events and try to make things look better each year. But mostly it is for the crazy rush that happens at high noon. For those of you who have attended, you know that at noon the line forms for a giant beef hotdog and hamburger. In the past bignate, and jeremy would come up for lunch and enjoy some of the grub. I always think of those guys while i'm tucked away in the "AV room" eating the good grub. If your out and about swing on by the fair grounds and get in on the action!!
